Committee Reports.

A. Oversight – Report from Cheri. Jay and Lebriz membership transfer, welcome lunch for Beth and Caroline

 B. Nominating Committee – we met briefly. Committee for aesthetics – Caroline. Work continues with consideration of the whole process of nominating. Also under consideration is a listing of “essential tasks” for meeting so that people can more clearly understand places they might want to leap in and perhaps we can understand more clearly what is truly serving our meeting and what tasks may be leading us away from simplicity.

 C. Finance Suggestion that we donate $250 to AFSC as thank you to Eric Moon, revisiting why we restricted ourselves to not accept money from other groups using meetinghouse and why an individual from meeting should be with the group.

D.   Buildings and Grounds Plant protection and new carpet – moisture measurers and mats?

E.    Hospitality Report – Cheri

F.   Religious Education. Did not meet but have a tentative plan to meet the next Sunday, we will discuss plans for childproofing and some rearrangement of area, Bible Study materials, and more.

G.   Peace and Social Concerns. AFSC effort to help with an exhibit in Reno, Cliff. “We are cobbling a group together to host the American Friends Service Committee's Eyes Wide Open and Human Cost of War exhibit.  The event dates are Nov. 2 and 3.  The location is the Legislature Mall nearby where we meet on Mondays to Stand for Peace.   Let me know if you are interested in passing along a brief message to your friends with general information about the event.  We are still trying to plan activities for the event.” MLK weekend, Joyful Alternatives, Dawn’s Walk Lightly. Cliff and the war resister’s conference in Eugene. Summer Solstice Peace Camp (see print-outs)

New Business: Beth’s request concerning the sand issue she is facing (Beth will explain).

Old Business: Jim Rigby of Spiritual Regeneration Movement asking for meeting space.
